Not every tool from the reference site made the cut — password encryption, SVG/path extraction, OCR-based repair, and some niche format conversions need heavier infrastructure than a single page can carry. The twelve above are fully working, not mockups.

    Images to PDF

Add JPGs or PNGs, drag to reorder, and combine them into one PDF.

      Compress PDF

Re-encodes each page as an image at a quality you choose — a reliable way to shrink scanned or image-heavy PDFs.

Because pages are rasterized, text stops being selectable/searchable in the output. For text-heavy PDFs you want to keep searchable, this isn't the right tool.

      About PDF Bench

What this is, and why it works the way it does.

PDF Bench is a set of PDF utilities that run entirely as JavaScript in your browser tab. There's no account, no install, and no server processing your files — each tool on the home page uses the open-source pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries to read, edit, and rebuild PDFs on your own device.

That's a deliberate trade-off: a few advanced operations — real PDF password encryption, vector path extraction, OCR-based repair — need infrastructure a single page can't provide, so they're left out rather than faked. Every tool listed actually works.

      Privacy

What happens to your files, in plain terms.

Files you open in PDF Bench are processed locally in your browser. They are not uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server operated by this site — closing the tab clears everything.

If this site shows advertising (for example through Google AdSense), the ad provider may use cookies or similar technology to serve and measure ads, which can include personalization based on activity across sites. Google's advertising policy explains what that involves.

This page is a starting point, not a finished legal document. Before turning ads on, update it to name the actual ad provider(s), describe cookie use accurately, and add a consent banner for visitors in regions that require one (EU/UK/California) — that's a job for a lawyer or compliance service, not this placeholder text.
